Well, I went into our local Wine superstore and I got all glassy eyed again. When I do that I tend to throw things in my cart that sound good at the time. I figure I can research it further when I get home but I'm at a loss here.

I purchased a 2005 Bourgogne Blanc (sold as a White Burgundy) from Domaine Saint Martin. It also says "Saint Veran" on the label which looks to be the appellation. OK...now just what is this? A Chardonnay blend of some kind? I guess I'll find out soon enough but I'd like to know a little bit more before quaffing it down.

Saint-Veran is an appellation surrounding Pouilly-Fuisse in South Burgundy. Without looking it up, I believe it's between the Maconnaise and Beaujolais. The wines are white and made from the Chardonnay grape. If I'm incorrect on any of the above, I'm sure someone will chime in.
