CB and I are happy to spend our holidays here in the desert. Had the whole family over yesterday after lunch at our favorite restaurant and opened Xmas presents. After a case of 02 Clos du Val Cab everyone left happy. Now its' clean-up time and peace and quiet till we leave for San Diego the 4th of next year. Happy Holidays to all and may health and good wine follow you thru the new year. WW

Having my dad and two of the kids (and assorted SO's) over tomorrow, as well as our best friend. Roasting a prime rib and having all the usual sides, including the Yorkshire Pudding I'll make just before we serve. Also made some pistacchio cranberry biscotti half dipped in vanilla flavored white chocolate for dessert. Judy and I hope all of you have a wonderful holiday season of whatever persuasion, and that next year is truly the best of your lives. Great food and great wine to all!

Merry Christmas to everyone!!!!! I'm busy making the Christmas eve dinner I bring to my hubby's aunts. Marinara and meatballs with lasagna rolls. Yummm!!!

Just got back from a delicious family dinner of Wienerschnitzel and rotkohl, bookended by appetizers and desserts a la fondue. The whole family's Mormon, so there wasn't any wine (unless you wanna count that Martinelli's stuff), but the food was great, and so was the "glowing family holiday love." Hope everyone has a wonderful and safe turning of the year!

Spent Christmas Eve at Mom's with the entire family. Very untraditional feast of Italian spinich lasagna with salad and fixins (all of us are English, Irish and German [img]http://www.wines.com/ubb2/biggrin.gif[/img]). Daughter in law had to stay home with one grandchild as she was sick but all had a wonderful time. My wish for you all is a happy and healthy Christmas.

Back from visiting my sister in West Des Moines, Iowa for Christmas. Had a good time despite five members of the family (out of nine) coming down with stomach flu (I was one that didn't get sick) and being fogbound in the Des Moines Airport for seven hours on Tuesday, getting back to Raleigh area six hours later than scheduled (with suitcase MIA). My sister's 18-month old granddaughter Meredith entertained everybody (except when she initiated the stomach flu disaster). Had us all dancing to the "Wiggles." If you have preschool children around you will probably know what I am talking about. Anyone for "Hot potato, hot potato, cold spaghetti, cold spaghetti" or "Shaking out the Sillies?"

I have a six year old with Down's Syndrome. We have been perenially stuck in Barney's World and Elmo's World for the last three years, but thankfully now she has moved on to Mary Poppins, Annie, Eloise, and a few other more mature types of children's movies.
Anybody for a chorus of "Chim Chimminy Chim Chimminy Chim Chim Cheroo..." ?

Happy New Year everyone!!! May happiness, good health and joy be yours for 2006 and beyond. Thanks for all your great tips and suggestions (even basting my chicken with blue nun months earlier when I just joined this thread) hahaha, left it on the shelf and got the Chateau de Ste. Michelle instead. [img]http://www.wines.com/ubb2/smile.gif[/img] Relaxing with friends for New Year's Eve, lively jazz and new age music to take us through the late evening and early morning hours, and we are making our own homemade fully-loaded pizzas with some shiraz, shiraz-grenache and cabernet sauvig...will be enjoying both the Yellowtail and 14Hands labels...Dessert will be tiramisu...mmmm~ Enjoy, Bon Appetit and CHEERS when the ball drops!!! It's been awesome! And the beat goes on... Hugs, Kaz
