Hello Everyone, First Time E-Mailer. About 8 years ago a friend of mine brought me back a bottle of wine from Italy. It is a Pojer & Sandri-Schiava. On the label there is a stamp with the word VENDEMMIA and the year 1996. It has been sitting at room temperature since then. My question is, Is it still good or not? And if it is how long will it stay that way? Need your help.

Thanks
TomM

Hi Tom, and welcome to the Wine Board. I'm afraid we need some more information. I may be wrong but I think you have just given us the producer, region, and vintage, but not what kind of wine it is. Also what is the temperature range in the room it has been kept in?

Thanks for getting back to me. It is a red wine and the temperature is between 60 and 65 degrees. All of the words on the bottle are Italian. It also has words such as ATENSINO and across the bottom it says:
Imbottigliato all'origine nell'Azienda Agricola. It also has on the bottom :
Reg 316/TN. On the cork it has A CONTR I.V.A. A/2 TN/316 and FAEDO. I don't know if that helps but that's pretty much everything on the bottle.

Hope this helps,
TomM

I would think it should be opened soon. You may want to have a backup bottle ready in case this has gone downhill or oxidized.
