Hi Tamngo and welcome to the Wine Board. There are thousands of kinds of wines and tens of thousands of brands. What is best is what best suits a situation.

You might want to check our Wine/Food Affinities thread to see what wines go with which foods.

If you just want to try wines without food, all our other threads carry good information.

A good red to start with is Beaujolais Villages. The '04 and '05 versions are out now and are excellent. A nice white to start with is Vouvray. Both of these can be found in the $10 price range, and can be enjoyed with friends or with food or both.
