I prefer very heavy oak flavored chardonnays. Does anyone have yummy recommendations for my taste (preferably from California wineries)?

Hi Aburnsca, and welcome to the Wine Board. It would hard to find one any oakier than Forest Glen California Chardonnay, Barrel Fermented. It can be had for around $10, meaning that it has been oaked with bags of oak chips used like tea bags. The result tastes just like a woodpile.

Yum!

IK, you've touched one of my favorite Rant topics again: That one would not likely be able to go into a wine store, stand in front of a shelf of Calif. Chard, close eyes, reach, & come up with anything OTHER than a "woodpile".

So, aburnsca, just go into the store & reach...you won't likely be disappointed.

Ab man...try Toasted Head Chardonnay, enough wood to burn in your fireplace while toasting your honey.
