I have a new wine refrigurator and was wondering if there was a rule on what types of wine are to be served chilled.

Hi Richbart, and welcome to the Wine Board. Chill white, rose, and light red (e.g. Beaujolais) table wines, all sparkling wine, and all dessert wines. Medium and full bodied red table wines should be served at 60-65 degrees F. If your household where the wine is stored is kept at 70 degrees, then even the reds should be chilled a little.

If your wine refrigerator is a temperature/humidity control unit, keep all wines in there at around 60 degrees, and proceed as above when ready to serve.

Generally speaking, wine refrigerators are produced to be storage units.

Keep all your wines in your wine refrigerator.

Read the instructions that came with it. This will help you to decide where to keep reds and whites.
