After i open a bottle whats the best way to store it?

Buy a can of "Private Preserve", follow the instructions and put it in the fridge if you don't have a wine cellar. Don't expect it to last more than a few days even with these precautions. WW

If you are going to drink the rest soon, some wines, even by type, do better than others. Get ahold of one of Andrea Immer's Wine Buying Guides (the '05 is out there, and the '06 should be so soon). She reviews hundreds of widely distributed wines and gives longevitey ratings (among many other evaluations) for them by brand and by type. These range from overnight to up to six days by simply replacing the cork.

It's true -- they vary greatly. I need to get this book myself.
I have noticed in general that the more tannic reds (cabs and merlots) tend to last a LOT longer than fruity whites, which can go bad in a couple of days (especially Reislings).
