I have never drunk any alcohol in my life. Thus, I am weak in alcohol intake. Recently, I have read about the red wine and learned that it is good for human health. I want to explore the wine world. I want to begin with simple wine, less than $10.00 per bottle. Please, recommend several kinds. Also what do you recommend if I do not consider the price?

Do you like sweetened fruit drinks and cola drinks? If you are used to sweeter drinks you may want to start out by trying Lambrusco, preferably a brand other than Reunite. This is a somewhat sweet and sometimes bubbly red wine from Italy. Progressing from Lambrusco, you may want to try a Beaujolais Villages wine which does not have residual sugar (after fermentation) but may not taste dry due to the fruity, refreshing, light flavor. If you like tart drinks such as cranberry juice and grapefruit juice, you may want to start with a Beaujolais or Merlot--not that they are tart, but rather that they are not sweet either.

Hi Daniel, and welcome to the Wine Board. Please go to Wine Expo on 2933 Santa Monica Blvd and ask Roberto for advice. Tell him that Innkeeper sent you.
