come someone give me a description of the wine I got, I got another bottle because I really enjoyed it, but would like to know what a "Good description of the win" would be

it's
Bodegas
Montecillo
Sociedad Anonima
Crianza
1997

that's what's on the label anyway, if more info is needed just ask

tnx's to everyone who replies

Also there is a what seems like a serial number on the back....could someone also tell me what kind of things to look for when looking for a wine....

danneon, your second question is more important, so let's address that first: What to look for in a wine? 1)wine that tastes good to you, & 2)wine that matches the food you're eating.

You should be able to find some help from knowledgeable persons in your local wine stores. Ask for recommendations to match whatever you are serving. You can also ask about wine/food pairing in the Wine/Food Affinities section of this Board. We will be glad to make suggestions.

Regarding the Bodegas Montecillo, I haven't personally had that one, so here are the notes for that wine from a popular wine magazine:

"Ripe and jammy. This juicy red is rich with black cherry, licorice and black pepper flavors, round and thick on the palate."

The description is a bit surprising because most Rioja wines wouldn't be described as "jammy". You be the judge!

...and the serial number on the back is part of the appellation control in Spain; you can rely on it being authentic.
