From what i have heard, you have "notes" when you go wine tasting, what would be the perfect white wine (notes wise?) what would the colour, taste, smell have to be like. where can i get a copy of a wine tasting page?
Thanks

White, welcome to the board. Every type of wine has its own characteristics. There is no such thing as "the perfect white wine". If a particular wine expresses its winemakeer's skills, terroir, and grape varietal(s) perfectly, then it is a perfect representation of that wine. Check the threads under Loire, Chardonnay, Riesling, Viogier and Champagne, and you'll find some discussions of white wines that exhibit superb characteristics.

Indeed, there is no such thing as the perfect wine--period--although wine writers and gurus keep telling us about it, as well as the perfect vintage of the century.

More importantly, though, this is a question for the authority on white wines: take it winoweenie.

DUH!! The perfect white wine will lack color. WW
