hi, new not only to this site, but also to drinking wine. My hubby and I have considered occasionally haveing some with our dinner, or just sharing time with each other.
Now, where to start!!
I have been reading posts here, but have bunches of questions.

One is, how many glasses can you get out of a bottle, how long with the bottle last after it is opened, as we won't drink a lot, just a glass each.

I will save the others for later.
Thanks

Hi there Curious and welcome. A few quick answers ...

-There are about four or five normal-sized glasses in a bottle of wine.

-Most wine will last 24 hours without going bad, so if you and your husband each have a glass for two days, you should be able to polish off the bottle without any problems.

-To make sure that the wine stays fresh overnight, try to drink half the bottle the first day, then pour the rest into an empty 375-ml bottle (half the normal size) and cork it. That way there is much less oxygen reacting with the leftover wine.

The real experts might chime in with some more explanatory or complete answers. Don't hesitate to ask any more questions.

Wine glasses come is sizes ranging from four to twenty four ounces. To be sure, measure; using an empty bottle for practice. Joe is right on regading the half bottle recommendation. They are hard to find, unless you get a dessert wine, but once you get one, hang onto it. You may be lucky enough to find a favorite wine that comes in half size (375 ml) bottles, and that would solve all your problems.
