i recently heard winemaker john duval of penfolds has started to produce his own lable.any truth to this and if so will it be made available at retail shops.

He left Penfold's in time to make the 2003 vintage of his John Duval Wines Plexus, a Shiraz blend. I think he's up to three wines now, but he's only making about 500 cases of each, so chances of finding it here are a bit slim.

If I remember correctly, and sometimes that is difficult, he makes, or at least has made 2 wines. The Plexus is a SGM, and the Entity is a shiraz. Tasted these a few weeks back. I believe Old Bridge Cellars was importing 7 or 800 cases of the Plexus and a little less of the Entity. The wines are made in the fruit forward style the Aussies do so well. Of course, I believe it is actually hard to make a bad shiraz or gsm from the Barossa.
