Hi,
I am in desperate need of help. I am looking to purchase the wine that was served at my wedding five years ago. My goal is to give these to my husband as an anniversary gift. I am hoping to locate not only the wines served but also the same wines in the vintage year of our wedding as well.
The wines are Meridian Chardonnay 2000
Meridian Cabernet Sauv. 1998
Meridian Chardonnay 2001
and Meridian Cab Sauv. 2001.

I know that not all of these are still drinkable but the sentimental value outweighs that fact.
My husband and I collect wines now as a hobby and while we are novices I think this would be a wonderful surprise.
I have searched and searched online but to no avail.
There are a lot of false hopes in websites that say they have it but then dont.
Is there anyone who can help this hopeless romantic??
We were married right after Sept 11th and vowed to renew our love to eachother every five years. Life is so precious, and so easily taken away. So thats what we are doing this year with our first vow renewal. This would just complete it!
Thanks so much for any help.

I'm not sure anyone would keep this wine around. But.... why not call the vineyard and see if they keep a library selection. I almost feel foolish calling this a library selection, so see if they have any back vintages left over. Or they might know of someone who has some left over.

Another idea is to find out who distributes this in your area. They most likely don't have any...... but a couple of thier salesman might know of a place that still does. A few people on this board are from Ma. They might be able to answer who distributes this. I imagine you'd be on your own after that, but at least it's a start.

The winery has a "high end" wine termed "limited release". Of this, they might just have that library selection.

Good Luck,

mark

You may want to try the site www.wine-searcher.com. I tried that and found the following

Meridian Chardonnay 2000
http://www.ackerstore.com/

1998 Meridan Cab Sauv:
http://www.houstonliquors.com/imageview2.asp?id=089819064007

Meridan Chardonnary 2001
http://biggourmet.com/index.tpl?&ng_view=9&NG_relation_ID=1995

Meridan Cabernet Sauvignon 2001
http://www.wineaccess.com/store/canalsmarlton/ecommerce/product.html?product_id=10689231

etc... no guarantees that they will have then as this is generally not something that they keep...but it is a start. good luck

We don't have any Meridian that old in our shop. We carry it in the bargain aisle and it goes so fast we always have only the current vintage in stock. The distributor wouldn't have any that old either. You should have gone with Westport Rivers wines.

Hi thank you for your help everyone.

I have tried those sites in trying to locate the wines, however it seems that most sites do not update frequently so all that information was innacurate.

I know the wine is not drinkable, but again its the sentimental reasons why I would like it.

We really had no choice in the wine used for our reception at the time. Our reception was held in the Observation City View room at the John Hancock bldg in Boston and the vendor pretty much chose the wine at the time. Due to requirements of the bldg at time, the reception had to be open bar, so really the wine was not our concern at the time, but merely an addition.

It is so funny how the thought of collecting wine never crossed our mind then but five years later I am on the hunt lol

Well if anyone comes across any outlets let me know. This may be ever impossible but I wont be certain if I dont try.

Have a great day everyone...

Wine searcher and wineaccess.com would be the 2 places i would go to find these items. Meridian does not always bottle well over time, as such these vintages, especially the 1998 will probably be undrinkable, but if you merely intend them to be for sentimental reasons, that should not be a factor. Good Luck.

Hi again everyone,
I have tried those wine searching websites but no one has it.
Again, its not really about its drinkability as much as it is about the sentimental value it has.
I am just hoping someone has a bottle hanging around that they forgot about it.
Thanks again...

Meridian wines go really fast unfortunately. While I wish you the best of luck in finding these wines but tend to think that you probably will not be able to do so.
