Arrived today. Still just $110 including shipping. Total value is $248. Shipment included 2001 Dusi Vineyard Zinfandel ($38); 2001 French Camp Vineyard Zinfandel $38); Library Selection (this was a luck of the draw from six possible selections from ’97 & ’98) 1998 Paso Robles Cellers Cabernet Sauvignon ($45) – this is their third tier cab beyond Reserve; 2000 Silver Reserve Merlot ($28); 2001 Ranchita Canyon Vineyard Petite Sirah; 2000 Rock’n‘Roll Syrah; 2000 Legend Cabernet Sauvignon; and 2002 Charisma Dessert Zinfandel 500ml ($20). They also included another logo sun bottle stopper and a polished aluminum trivet ($15).

All will need some age on them except the syrah, the Legend cab, and the dessert wine.

The spring ’04 shipment arrived today from TJ. It contained the following:

2001 Zinfandel Commemorative $45
2001 Zinfandel James Gang Reserve $28
2001 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve $38
2001 Syrah Silver Reserve $38
2001 Refosco Silver Reserve $38
2001 Merlot Made in the Shade $16
2002 Chardonnay James Gang Reserve $25
2002 Late Harvest Zinfandel Liquid Love $18

Yes, that fifth one was refosco. It is only found in two vineyards in the Paso Robles AVA. Also included was a logo floor mat, so members can now wipe there feet on Tobin James! If you add up those retail prices it comes to $246. Not bad, for $110 and free shipping! The only one I would normally not be too wild about is the merlot, but we tasted it back in January, and found it much superior to past efforts. So, now we have two.

Ours came today, too. Gotta hand it to TJ. How many other wine clubs toss in a door mat with their wines?

I'd love to order from them, but the local UPS toads still won't handle wine shipments, even though state law now allows them to.
