I would like to know if Extended Maceration realy improves the wine?

It will if used for the right reasons and done correctly. If the winemaker wants to derive more of the character of the grapes from the skins, then generally the answer will be yes. However, if the winemaker is trying to hide inferior grapes by extracting more from the skins, then the answer is a big no. Unfortunately, sometimes a winemaker can ruin a perfectly good wine by extracting too much tannin.
