I have some over-sized bottles, 3 liter, and 5 liter bottles, having larger than normal corks. Any recommendations on what kind of a cork puller to use, and where to get one?

I've never opened anything larger than a mag. Good question.

WC, I use an Ah-So for all over-size bottles. Works fine even on older flimsier ( fragile) corks. Just be patient rockin` that sucker down. winoweenie Sorry WC forgot to note to buy the Original Ah-So as the imitators tear the corks to grape-nuts sized nuggets.

Looked in a catalog, and seen close to a hundred different cork pullers. No Ah-So. Is there another name for them by chance?

bust the top off on the edge of the bar and drink it straight from top...

I'll check into that web site, thanks! Oh, and Innkeeper, the five liter that I'm looking to open the soonest is one of those evil grapes, merlot. Isn't that off limits to you? However, I do have a three liter chianti on order. Do the wine gods at WITHSTAND allow you to have chianti? (heeheehee)
By the way- trip northeast has been postponed till February. Still trying to hire help to cover for me while gone.
Oh, and winobuddy, I've got a big, bad 90' Bordeaux that will make your hair grow back, if I can ever make it out your way anytme soon! Only trouble is trying to get it on the plane.... maybe attach it to one of the wings as a spare fuel tank?

So long as it comes from either the east bank of the Garonne or Northeastern Italy, the merlot would be fine. Otherwise we'll have to go with the Chianti.
