Have you had it? Tell me what you think!

It's great.
Try Catena, also Kaiken Ultra if you can find it.

I'll look for them, thanks. The first time I tasted it was at Christian Brothers so theirs became my favorite. Always willing to try others though.... If you can find the CB, tell me what you think.

Hi WSCD and welcome to the board. If you go back on this thread for a year you'll find MANY posts on great malbecs. The ones from Argentina are thot to be very fine. WW

Also try Trapiche, Vina Maipu, Gascon, Altos los Hormigas, and Almos; all from Argentina.

What was the last time you found a Christian Brothers Malbec, and which ones have you been drinking lately?

Many of the recommened Malbecs from Argentina can be found at the Southern Hemisphere Wine Center (http://www.southernwines.com/). I think they have free shipping in-state.

Another good malbec to watch for...the current version of Laurel Glen's Terra Rosa. Patrick buys the best S. American grapes he can find to make this label, it used to be a Chilean or Argentinian cab with a lot of malbec blended in. Lately it's been all Malbec, and danged tasty. Priced right, too.

This is an old post, but needs to be bumped? My favorite is from Argentina-- Los Cardos

I'm going to a Catena Alta component tasting in 2 weeks. A Catena rep will be there. I'm damned excited.
There will be notes.
