I have a question about the value of a bottle of wine and this looks like a great place to get an answer (Beware: this is my first time doing something like this). I enjoy drinking wine but know very little about it (beyond what I like & dislike)! An out-of-town family member brought a case of wine to me. It contained a broad spectrum of wine; my understanding is that they acquired it when the owner went out of business. One bottle caught my attention with the price tag- which appears to say $335 (there is no visible decimal). I would like to find out if there should be a decimal or what the true value is. Here is the info on the bottle: DOMECQ Double Century Cream Smooth Rich Sherry; "Produce of Spain;" "Imported;" "Produced & Bottled by Pedro Demecq, S.A. Jerez De La Frontera;" "Dreyfus, Ashby & Co." There is also a label across the top proving it hasn't been opened w/ a "Guarantee of Origin": 6 A 8 2434606. For all I know, this could have been purchased at Circle K. ANY help/info would be greatly appreciated!

There really should be a visible decimal. A current price at retail for that is about $9. I don't know what the regs are in AZ, or wherever the sherry was purchased, but here in MA a retailer can't sell a wine for less than it was purchased at wholesale. So, the retailer might have paid $3.34 or less for the bottle.
