1995 Kvaliteno Vino, Bolski Plavac, Product of Croatia, 12% alcohol, $3.00 in Mali Losinj, Crotia. Bol is a village on the south coast near Split. Plavac or Plavac Mali is a cousin to zinfandel and primitivo. Very similar. Plums and raspberries on the nose and upfront, nice spicy complexity and perfectly smooth tannin on the palate, and a very refreshing finish. Married nicely with Bistecca alla Pizzaiola, garlic bread, and salad.

IK, your description reads like Zinfandel/Primitivo. Rest my case!
