- yukidama - 09-15-2004 hello does someone have an idea where i can get cheap tokaj wines? i only found some bad onlineshops... very expensive and not really exiting thanx for all advices - Innkeeper - 09-15-2004 Hello Yukidama, and welcome to the Wine Board. In my humble opinion the term "cheap Tokaj wines" in an oxymoron. - winemonger - 09-15-2004 You should try some sweet dessert wines from the Burgenland region of Austria. It's just across the border and, in the case of the Ruster Ausbruch wine from the town of Rust, is made in the same production method as a tokaj. Look for wines from Feiler-Artinger and Wenzel. Enjoy! ------------------ www.winemonger.com - Thomas - 09-16-2004 Good alternative suggestions from winemonger--good Tokaj wines just aren't cheap. But then, neither are many Austrian dessert wines, or any good dessert wines. It is an expensive winegrowing and producing process to make dessert wine.
