Greek wine from the Xinomavro grape.

Color of Burgundy, nose of cherry and a touch of smokiness. Medium body, with nice cherry fruit subdued by a wall of dusty tannins. Not a bad wine, it would go better with food. 12% alc. Paid about $11 locally. FWIW, Wine & Spirits gave it a 90. A bit high in my estimation, but the tannins may fade a bit given a few years, making it a bit rounder. I'll likely get it again and give it a few years. I like exploring, and Greece is fertile ground. Wish I had a better selection of Greek wines to explore, but choices are limited in Atlanta.

Have enjoyed this wine many times over the years. Unfortunately, even in allegedly Greek venues, it is the only one available. There is a world of wonderful Greek wine out there.

IK, you have to move back to NYCity. It is almost awash in good Greek wines these days.
