Juice was cold fermented in stainless steel and aged only five months. The Nobilo Icon Pinot Gris (Australia/New Zealand thread) was dramatically deeper in color than the Carr which is pale gold or straw color. The Carr is spicier on the nose and palate. Before with this wine I've found baked apple, and another taster found pineapple and melon--all seem possible descriptors to me, thinking of a pale melon such as honey dew, but none is an exact description. The winery label notes "flavors of crisp green apples and spiced tea fresh and intense like the day the grapes were picked" and suggests pairing with a fresh grilled halibut on a warm summer afternoon. The Carr seemed lighter on its feet, more sprightly than the Nobilo. Both were enjoyable.
