Not good. Not good in any way. I am having a truly hard time describing the nothingness that this wine provides. It tastes expensive for some reason, but bad expensive. Bad wine.

PS: this was the reserve bottling. Yikes.

Much, much, much too early. It was probably in its dumb stage.

That was my first thought, but after a few glasses I really don't think so. Either it's just not my type of wine or it's bad.

Had the 85 version of this three years ago and it was tasting very nice. Lived a few miles from Concannon (and Wente, etc.) before I moved east. There was a lot of wine coming out of Livermore Valley that was pretty good, but not many too memorable. Concannon's PS was one you could depend on to produce a wine drinkable many years down the road.

Got a little better as the night wore on so IK's theory is true. However, judging it's potential by how it opened over time, I'm not sure it would have been to my liking anyway. Guess I'll never know as it was a gift and I only had one. I think there may be some other bottles left in the cellar to enjoy though...

Sorry you're not going to joining the purple tooth brigade as PS lovers are known.

I actually had to brush my LIPS before I went to bed last night. That was a new one on me. Purple everywhere.

Agree with Ik and KC about Concannon. Haad lots of fine PSs' of his but all had at least 10 years of beard growing. WW

I notice that the Blue Tooth Tour is not going to Boston this year as they did last year. Wonder if they read GADs post! http://www.bluetoothtour.com/

I actually have a small stash of different vintages of Concannon PS that I picked up for a song...(Less than $8 per bottle). I've found that you have to age them or decant for 24 or more hours and they sing. Sorry about your experience GAD.

I'll live. It's a live and learn situation.
