I'd been wanting to try this Washington State wine recommended as a good QPR (quality/price ratio). It sells for under $10 a bottle in many supermarkets.

13.5% alcohol by volume
Color: dark purple
Color density: opaque
Nose and flavors aligned: Dark berries, plumskin and quite a bit of pepper.

Soft tannins. Juicy and tantalizing. What I would call a "fun" wine--not too serious or profound but tasty and enjoyable. I had it with a comfort food from childhood--beef/macroni/tomato soup/pimiento-stuffed olives/and shredded sharp cheddar cheese in a baked casserole dish. A possibility as an everyday wine but might get tiresome if overdone.
