Walla Walla Valley. We didn't visit while we were out at the offline last summer, but we've really fallen for both Washington and the wines, so we've been trying stuff that we see on the shelf down here in Atlanta. Slowly but surely, the selection is improving. This is a Bordeaux-style blend of 68% Cab, 30% Merlot, and 2% Cab Franc. We decanted 30 minutes before 1st pour and throughout evening. Dark reddish-purple in color. This wine is all about black currant -- juicy currant nose, explosive currant flavors. It had a spicy finish with a lingering tannic grip. I think this will be a nice one in 3-5 years, once those tannins start to calm down. Still, a very enjoyable drink that really hit the spot on a chilly winter night here in Atlanta. 13.8% alc. Paid around $30, I believe. FWIW, WE 86. 1,800 cases produced.
