- sweetirish - 12-28-2000 Calling out to all my NW / Oregon experts..=-) First of all, let me say Thank you to all the people that have put up with my questions about local wines and such. You are all a great bunch. I have another request however... I am thinking about taking some winery tours, specifically Yamhill County since there are so many in a small area...I have never been to a winery and am curious if any of you have any suggestions. Others have recommended Sokol Blosser, Elk Cove, Erath and Chateau Benoit. I have visited The Tasting Room in Carlton. That's what actually started my interest in wine...=-) Thanks again for any info you can give me. Maybe you all will get this young curious little lady up to speed one of these days! - Bucko - 12-28-2000 My favorites in Yamhill County are: Belle Pente Hamacher Panther Creek WillaKenzie Bucko - chittychattykathy - 12-28-2000 Sweetirish, From one young curious little (well 5 '8") lady to another, add Argyle and you now have yourself a great list to pick from! Let us know what the highlights of your trip were! CCK - ddf68 - 12-29-2000 I second Elk Cove, Willakenzie, Argyle (primarily for their whites and sparkline wines). Tori Mor is also worthwhile and is just a hop skip and a jump from Argyle. Archery Summit has a good tour for $10 which includes barrel tasting of one or two of their Estate wines. ddf |
