2003 Hermann J. Wiemer, Dry, Johannisberg Riesling, Finger Lakes ($16 at Winery). Alcohol level 11.5%. The only difference between this and the last one I posted on is that this one was dry and the other was not. Both are very nice wines. This one could be layed down for a few years to become even better. It is fine now too, giving some nice citrus on the nose and upfront, and more mature fruit and some earth in the complexity in the middle. The finish was exquisite. Matched with broiled half inch fillets of grouper dotted with butter and sprinkled with Emeril Essence, roasted Yukon Gold fingerlings, and salad. Yum, yum.

Well, last night we killed the last bottle of Wiemer's and the last bottle of FL Riesling we brought back last April. Will be going back next month for more!

This one was simply exquisite. Matched it with baked salmon pieces in Hollandaise, roast fingerling Yukon Golds, and cherry tomatoes (from the garden) vinaigrette. When all was done, I held off on the chocolate cake, till I slowly sipped my last glass. Hardly gets better with an SW.
