Hello everyone, I'm brand new here and there is a lot of great information. I am planning a meal at a restaurant and am bringing my own wine and paying a corking fee. I'm having a party of 14 people with the following entree selections:

Chicken breast in creamy Pesto sauce
London Broil in Cabernet sauce
Grilled Atlantic Salmon in Champagne sauce

Based on some posts I've looked at here I am considering 8 bottles of wine (maybe too much, but better too much than too little I figure), and I was going to get 2 bottles of each of the following 4 varieties:
Pinot Gris
Riesling
Merlot
Pinot Noir

I'd appreciate any tips, especially those pointing out any mistakes I've made.

Thanks in advance!

Your on the right track I think. If you have a Cabernet sauce on the beef, you may want to go with a Cabernet Sauvignon in place of the Merlot. You could choose an inexpensive one such as Hess Select. The Pinot Noir should be selected to go with the salmon (a delicate Pinot Noir--not the over-extracted in-your-face kind). Riesling might complement the chicken or could be consumed with the salmon for those who prefer a white wine. Pinot Gris gives them another alternative. Eight bottles for fourteen people is generous, but if any are unopened, you can use them on another evening.
