'01 Anthony Road, Martini Reinhardt Selection, Dry Riesling ($15 at winery). Alcohol level 13.4%; acidity 7.9g/ltr; residual sugar 1g/ltr. This is the wine from Anthony Road that Italian home winemakers would call "primo" in my youth. The idea was that you gathered all the juice that was produced by the weight of the grapes alone, without any pressing; also called free run wine.

A very lovely wine. Gives plenty of apples, pears, even lychees on the nose and upfront. At age four the complexity is incredible. The slight sweetness nullifies the alcohol and acidity so that neither is an issue. The finish lingers on and on.

Matched with Wiener Schnitzel in a little lemon juice, and salad with Blue Cheese Dressing. Memorable dinner.

Hope to pick up some more next week.
