1997 Westport Rivers Riesling; Southeastern New England - $12.00

Definite, deep golden color. Nose plentifully stuffed with crisp, Granny Smith Apple and mineral. On the palate, gobs and gobs of fruit with a coarse citrus flavor and texture through the middle and on the finish. Lacking that oily, petrol quality of most Rieslings but it otherwise, the varietal character suggests Riesling. Nice, long finish which will no doubt improve with some bottle age.

Nice wine that would work well with countless dishes and went well with calamari linguine for lunch yesterday.

Now that sounds like a lunch to behold, and so does the wine.
