2005 Louis Jadot, Beaujolais Villages ($9.99 NH Liq Store). Alcohol level: 12.5%.

It treats the eye to a beautiful garnet color. It gives you overripe strawberries, some red raspberries, and even violets on the nose and upfront. A simple complexity of plum, light doses of cinnamon and pepper, and dusty earth cross the palate; and the finish is a “thank you mam.”

We matched it with well seasoned burgers with onions in EVOO and whole wheat buns, and salad on the side. Is this really Monday?

Had this very wine this evening with fresh garden salad, diced grilled chicken with whole raw baby carrots, broc, caulif and radishes topped with a bit of red wine vinegret. The wines red fruits and plum took the stage, while the simpleness of the wine seemed to match the salad nicely. We had a fairly strong garlic toast on the side that seemed perhaps too much for the drink. But still was good! Interestingly and coincidentily its Monday, must be good day for Beaujolaise! WP

Another bottle tonght with Salisbury Steaks, beans, and salad. Wine is still holding wonderfully, and matched well with dinner.
