I am making this meal for my girlfriend when she comes home in a couple weeks and I was wondering what kind of wine would be good for the recipe.(note I don't know anything when it comes to wine I was thinking more along the red wines though.)
Chipotle's Chicken Marinade
1 (2 ounce) package dried ancho chiles
1 teaspoon black pepper
2 teaspoons cumin powder
2 tablespoons fresh oregano, chopped
6 cloves garlic
1/2 red onion, quartered
1/4 cup vegetable oil
4 chicken breasts (6 ounces each
SIDE DISH:
Garlic Red Potatoes

1-1/2 pounds red potatoes, quartered
3 tablespoons butter, melted
1-1/2 teaspoons minced garlic
3/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 lemon, juiced
2-1/4 teaspoons grated Parmesan cheese
I am not sure if you need all of the ingredients but this is all that I have so far I was maybe thinking of making a chocolate fudge cake for dessert. Please respond with what you think will taste great.

Im thinking a southern clime red, like Italian, Chiante Classico, or a red zinfandel from California. Rancho Zabaco Heritage is good (don't bother with the cheaper one, called Dancing Bull, although the same bull logo is on both labels).

You could also have a nice vintage port with dessert, or also good with chocolate, Gran Marnier or cognac.

Hi Mikey and welcome to the Wine Board. A red such as Bern recommended would work, but I would prefer a Gewurztraminer (a spicy white) from Alsace.
