2000 Georges Duboeuf, Jean Descombes, Morgon. This is first Cru Beaujolais from the 2000 vintage we've tried. What can we say? Some things never change. At least this one in particular is on a long run of consecutive great vintages.

Red cherries and raspberries on the nose and tongue tip. Respectable heft and complexity across the palate, and a refreshing finish. Is definitely ready to drink now, and will probably hold for several years. Can't see how or where it will improve any with age. It is just about as good as it gets right now.

It will probably take another couple of months to reach us here in the hinterlands, but I'll watch for it. Glad to hear it's a good 'un. Thanks, IK.

I'm on my way to the wine store even as I type this..... One foot already out the door!

I had 2 or 3 bottles of this over the summer, enjoyed it every time. Just ordered 4 more bottles, but found out that 'it's all gone'. So if you see the '00 Jean Des. Morgon, don't hesitate, just buy it.

Saw a bunch of it in Stockbridge, MA over the past weekend. Brought one down for my friend, and he had to rush out and get some more.

The stores just ran out of 99 here. 00 is just hitting the shelves.
