Should have diacritic marks that I'm not sure how to put in on this keyboard. Producer is Jean-Marc Burgaud, a Robert Kacher selection. On sale at Bassin's in DC for $11.99. Note says produced from old wines (I think they mean vines) on Burgaud estate located on the Cote du Py hillsides. Bottled unfiltered (a few specks of sediment--nothing gross).
13% alcohol
Served chilled on a hot day.
Purple with some browner shading (seems to be a component of the wine color--not a sign of being over the hill).
Nose of red cherries, lurking violets.
Slightly bitter taste but not enough to detract from favorable overall impression.
Tastes light-bodied but rich enough for the turkey breast, dressing and corn I had with it. This wine grew on me. I liked it better the second night than the first.
