- dananne - 08-08-2003 I thought about posting this in the Spanish thread, but this one has been so lonely I just couldn't help giving it some attention. Pretty aromatic nose of wild strawberries; very pale color. Fresh, dry, and refreshing strawberry flavors with just a bit of spiciness. Good acidity -- would make for a fine poolside/beach wine or with some light picnic fare. May be a bit delicate for some heavier BBQ, but would stand up to simple burgers. All in all, a nice rose at a nice price -- $8. Alc. 13%. Of rose wines I've had recently, I'd put it ahead of the Bonny Doon Vin Gris de Cigare, but behind my usual favorite Rose of Virginia by Charles Melton. P/Q, however, this wins. - Scoop - 08-12-2003 In my experience, Bodegas Muga produces a consistently good rose', year in-year out, very much along the lines of your notes. A nice bargain.
