So on the basis of RP's stellar rating for 2005 Loire whites (94 - his highest rating for the Loire valley since 1970, the farthest back the online version of the chart extends, second highest is 1989 with 92), I had to go to the store. And at the risk of being labeled a baby killer, this is the first of two Loire whites from 2005 this week.

$21 at Spec's, 13%. This is great stuff. A little grassy on the nose, very pleasant. I could not detect fruit either on the nose or on the palate, but great balance, steely acidity throughout and a mineral feel that comes in in the middle and continues for a few seconds. Already very nice, but also very promising.

Thanks for the note. I'm sure the Parkerization will drive up the prices, the sorry !@#$%^&*.
