Imported by Franklin Selections, Inc., Annapolis Junction, MD $12.99
12.5% alcohol; synthetic cork

When I asked for food recommendations for a Chinon, I forgot to mention that it was a rose version. The calves' livers in Madeira suggested by Foodie would proably go better with a red Chinon. My grocery story doesn't normally carry duck (I may ask about putting in a special order for duck breast sometime) so there went IK's suggestion. But I had two Cornish hens in the freezer so took out one of them. I roasted it with a cranberry chutney/honey glazed and served it with a side dish of bran and wild rice. The rose was a nice accompaniment.

Nice salmon color (eye of the partridge)
Nose and flavor of strawberries; vibrant and tingly on palate; refreshing
Very pleasant as aperitif or with food but nothing profound or complex; rather a one-note wine.
I don't know how rose Chinon is usually priced, but at $12.99 I thought this was a good QPR and may look for more as a summer sipping wine.
