- TheEngineer - 08-04-2007 Served nicely chilled. What a great nose, straddling between intense and elegant. Very very fresh, almost like a light green garden (not that I've been a gardener...and what is a light green garden anyways?? ) Very nice mouthfeel, minerally, flinty, very smooth and round, nice persistence and good finish thought just a bit hot at the end. - hotwine - 08-04-2007 Have never had a hot Sancerre. What was the alcohol level?? - TheEngineer - 08-04-2007 It may have a bit to do with just me and my sensitivity to alcohol. The wine is listed at 12.5% (is that high or low for Sancere or is it right there?) - hotwine - 08-04-2007 12.5% is just right! Perfecto! - TheEngineer - 08-05-2007 I actually had a full bottle tonight. The notes were based on a taste I had at a wine store. same notes but no hotness detected. Strange...maybe due to the lineup of wines and what was before it? - brappy - 08-05-2007 That's a funny note. And a great note at the same time. I mean, how many times are we tasting a wine and an articulate thought comes to mind. Obviously that is what happened when you tasted this wine. I believe "Light green garden" is a great description of what was going through your thoughts when tasting this wine. And really, it isn't too far from what I think about when drinking a Sauv. Blanc from about anywhere (except New Zealand). Thanks for the note! mark - TheEngineer - 08-05-2007 Mark you are right! I imagined myself walking through a Radicio (sp?), Arugula, endive, etc, salad garden when I was tasting this..... I hardly ever do this... Neat and at the same time totally devoid of any useful information.... - hotwine - 08-05-2007 Au contraire! Lots of good info there. Much prefer the herbal notes in Sancerre to tangy citrus in many other SBs. |
