- cmt813 - 09-15-2002 help!! i have a college assignment to prepare a 4-5 course meal for a couple's 50th wedding anniversary. i thought it would be nice to try to pair the meal with 50year old wines but is that a little over doing it? here's my menu: 1. an appetiser of stuffed mushrooms with a marsala wine in the resipe. 2. for salad a nice ceasar salad might do the trick 3. as an intermezzo i chose a nice basic fruit mousse. 4. an entree of chicken marsala. obviously i should serve a marsala wine, right, but which one? what vintage, what vinyard and what verietal? (what ever that means) im barely old enough to drink it to test anything. 5. for dessert i am looking at a chocolate mousse with brandy or rum in it. help!!! this is my grade [This message has been edited by cmt813 (edited 09-15-2002).] [This message has been edited by cmt813 (edited 09-15-2002).] - Innkeeper - 09-23-2002 We have a reluctance to do people's homework around here, through we sometimes get suckered in. With a little effort you can find all your answers right here on this thread. - Drew - 09-23-2002 I don't understand how a teacher would expect a specific rec. of wine, eg particular winery. What I would recommend is to visit some sites, winespectator.com, stratsplace.com etc as they have general food/wine pairing sections. Then I would study some vintage charts and choose those good vintages that are ready to drink, and accessable, and make your choices on that investigation. Drew |
