I put an extra 'e' in the heading--should be Clos de Sainte Catherine.
I was offered a free sampling of this at Enoteca Vin. At first I confused it with an Alsace wine with a Saint Catherine in the name, but a look at the label showed that this is from Layon (a Loire wine). It's a dessert wine from Domaine Baumard/Loire.
They produced 3200 bottles. Imported by Wine Markets International, Woodbury, NY>
Light straw color. 100% Chenin Blanc grape. Some botrytis. Pear syrup flavor. Still plenty of acids to balance the botrytis. Very nice for after dinner drink.

Thanks - I now desperately want to try more Baumard wines. I can't find the 1990 anywhere near me, but I will give the 2000 or 2002 a try.

WOW, this is one with which I have no familiarity and always wanted to try. Have not seen one in NY, but I will look again.
