The Mets are out of the play-offs and they played the last game at Shea Stadium. What a touching closing ceremony. Willie Mays, Yogi,and a host of Met heroes were there, and of course, my all time favorite heart-throb, Tom Seaver, who threw out one very last pitch at Shea to Mike Piazza....... I cried like a baby. sniff

At least pond-scum rises to the top, as in one game away from the play-offs. The Cards drowned in the pond this year.

Well... Last time I remember the Mets in the playoffs they were getting beat up by said Cardinals (who were on their way to their most recent of many, many World Series Championships)
