Attended yesterday for the trade. Not a very impressive line up of wines at what I believe to be still inflated prices. Its important to me to see value these days and I'm not seeing it from the smaller guys in Premier Cru and lower appellation controlee areas.

Out of 25 wines sampled, four stood out. Two were white and two red. After looking at presale pricing, I lost my appetite for conversation and left. I'll finish posting some notes over the next couple days.

That is too bad. Except for some of the vertical that I need to keep, it will most likely be a pass on Burgs for me in 07 and 08. Having said that, it has become increasing difficult to get a few of those that I need. I can't find any 07 Roumier Bonnes Mares/Clos de la Busierre for instance........

When you say you need them, is this for business reasons or personal? Wish I could collect some Bonnes Mares--a Bonnes Mares produced by Alex Gambal from one of his neighbor's grapes was possibly the first red Burgundy Grand Cru I ever tasted. Either that or a Raphet Clos de Bezes. (A Montrachet in the 70's was the first white Burgundy Grand Cru I tasted--nothing like starting at the top!)

WW, only for this senseless thing called a vertical. Entirely self imposed
