We had a great trip to New York this past weekend. Foodie's first year anniversary was fabulous. He has a great staff at this time.

I say this because we had an opportunity to not only meet them, but some other wonderful people. As we came out of the shop to catch a cab and meet up with our daughter and friend again for dinner, Bev tripped over a grate in the sidewalk and fell flat on her face. The whole staff of Is-Wine came to her aid, along with neighbors, and the prop of a nearby shop who brought her brand new merchandise out to cover her, and a pillow to put under her head.

She laid on the sidwalk for a half hour because the 911 operator only reported a lady with a broken finger. The whole crowd stayed with us the whole time. When we got to the hospital it turned out that she did have a broken pinky on her right hand, and had to take three stitches in her lip. Considering what could have happened, we are grateful.

The next day we stopped by to see Bob & Judy Sisak (kcwhippet) on the way back. They are lovely people who also took good care of us. He is a fabulous cook with an incredible wine cellar. Be sure to get his recipe for roasted tomato soup.

We had other great experiances since then. The local doctors were reponsive and efficient, and everything else has been great. We have never met some many special people in such a short time. This is a wonderful country with even more wonderful people. God bless.

Sorry about your bride's accident, IK. We're grateful it wasn't worse, and for the kindness of strangers.

Got your email IK. Glad all is well. I shall get the name and address of the shop nearby.

The chocolate-covered pecans and Banyuls, the pumpkin bread and Bual, the duck pate and Loupiac were all a great success that day. Made some dessert wine converts.

A good time was had by all, IK, even Bev, in her condition. We were glad to have you, and you're welcome back any time.

IK and Mrs..........

Glad to hear that everything turned out okay. Sorry to hear about the fall, but since it could have been worse; am glad that it was not.

It is truely a great and wonderful thing when people take care of others out of the kindness of their hearts. We need more of that........

I've tasted some of that kind of human kindness recently and it has helped me quite a bit.
