- jv38 - 10-01-2006 I'm feeling that I'm loosing my taste of wine. During the past couple of weeks I've been drinking less. I haven't found wines that WOW me in a couple of month, even wines that I know and love. Normally I open a bottle of wine and during the course of the night I finish it. But lately I kind of get bore with it. I still enjoy reading and talking about wine... Maybe I need a change of drink...(?) - Bucko - 10-01-2006 It's normal for a person's palate to evolve. Many wines I enjoyed early on do not tickle my fancy any longer. Try different regions, different wines -- shake it up a bit. Get some Loire Sancerre, a nice 2001 CdP, an Alsace Gewurzt.... - Thomas - 10-01-2006 My advice is that you explore drinking wine with food. - jv38 - 10-09-2006 Thrill may not be gone after all... Tasted a Red Dust Shiraz 2003 last Thursday an a Jim-Jim Shiraz 2003 yesterday. Both Australians, around $10.00 each. Both of them have nose of coffee, chocolate, and some tobacco. Both dark and thick texture... Everything that I'm expecting from a wine... Also tried a Chateau Los Boldos from Chile (Cabernet Savignon) that was more like a Cork Wine than a Grape Wine. It tasted like Cork. I put it aside to return to the vendor. |
