The latest issue of Wines & Vines has a cute item. Seems the CIVC, the organization representing the growers and producers in Champagne, was planning an ad campaign poking fun at Americans' misuse of French appellation names. Well, since there is a less than enthusiastic support of French wines here at the moment, they decided to pull the ads. W&V jokingly suggested a few alternative ad campaigns the French could use. Among them was this gem - "French Wines May Not Be PC, But They're Better Than That Texas Crap". Remember, this was only a joke.

They're right, French wines ARE better than that Texas crap. So are the wines from just about anywhere else in the whole world! But folks in the Hill County keep trying, although they're mostly just turning large fortunes into small ones.

I read " French wines may not be politically Correct, BUT they're better than the politcal crap from Texas (Dubs)".WW

That's the intention I got from the message, and it was a good play on words.
