- Thomas - 11-27-2005 This past week I have gotten email from the FBI and the CIA (more than once) each telling me that someone has logged with my IP address and that all I need to do to fix things is to open up the attachment and fill out the questionnaire for their records. Are there really people out there who fill out the questionnaires? - robr - 11-27-2005 Someone is fishing. Don't do it. - Kcwhippet - 11-27-2005 Foodie, Check this: www.fbi.gov/cyberinvest/escams.htm and this: www.cia.gov/ - Innkeeper - 11-28-2005 If you opened the attachments you gave all of us a virus. - Thomas - 11-28-2005 IK, my use of the word incredulous, plus the question I posed, should be indication that I do not open such email. In fact, my IP server screens such email for me. But I do have an idea why these things come to me; in the past week or two a few people have sent along jokes and sundry Internet nonsense that is passed around and then sent out from address books. I don't open that email either. - wondersofwine - 11-28-2005 I've been sending Chase Bank the fraudulent messages I'm getting with their logo saying people have been trying different passwords to get into my account and I need to change my password. They said to send the e-mail to abuse@chase.com. - winoweenie - 11-28-2005 That is an especially violent virus Foodster. Ebberbody delete that sucker ASAP whenced it shows up. WW |
