I'm thinking the best pairing for this dish is probably the obvious: beer. But any suggestions about wine would be appreciated. The chicken is dredged, browned, and then simmered in beer and finally covered in heavy cream, served next to zucchini bread. My most pressing question is this: what is a suitable side vegetable for this dish? Vegetables have always been my weak point when entertaining. As a side note, this will all be prepared in dutch ovens over coals, but I'm pretty good at preparing most anything with the cast iron that can be prepared in the oven or range-top. What are y'alls thoughts on veggies?

Garden fresh green beans, left whole, and cooked just a little over the coals. For wine would go with old standby: an MSR Riesling Spatlese.

Maybe some good ol' corn on the cob- roasted on the grill w/tons of butter!!

AP,

Innkeeper's right... a great MSR Riesling Spatlese would be the way to go!

However, skip the beans and go with the corn on the cob! And, don't hold the butter!

[Sorry IK... not a big bean fan! ]

So many wines... so little time!

Cheers
