Ok, it's school Halloween #30 for me. Thirty years of spending 7 hours with 6,7, or 8 year olds. With that in mind, tonight will be the first annual meeting of the Halloween Haters Club founded by yours truly. A group of us (all elementary teachers) is going to dinner and a movie. Yes,I know, I've officially reached "old fart" status.

Boo Hiss! I'm coming down to paper your place while you're out!

- Bucko - 10-31-2003

And I thought that I was an old curmudgeon.... at least I give the little beggars a candy bar.

- Georgie - 10-31-2003

But you have to understand that I start playing Halloween at 7:00 am with 25 kids. It gets pretty old by evening! But even I have to admit that the kids are awfully cute. Totally off the wall, but they enjoy it so much I really can't begrudge them their fun.

But, Georgie, if you can get your way about two or more glasses into the bottle by the time they get to your house tonight, maybe you wouldn't care as much.

Boy, am I in deep kimche. I asked one of the staff if they suspended alternate side of the street parking for brooms today. Man, what a demonstration THAT provoked. I that's a "no" I guess.

hope all have a saafe and happy day/night- however you choose to celebrate it. I'm taking off my cat ears and tail and putting on my princess outfit. Gonna get out the fancy munchies and crack open a nice bottle with my guy after the little munchkins are all gone- replete with candy, of course. WD

"Thank God it's over!" was the most common departure remark echoing through the halls today at 3:30. But I must say that my kids were VERY well behaved, we had a beautiful day for the parade and nobody threw up. Well, not in my class anyway, although a Kindergartener did, all over his table and several classmates. Now, just to give you an inkling of how excited the kids get on this day, I stopped to talk to a first grade teacher as she was walking her class down the hall, and one little boy who has no idea who I am, grabbed my forearm with his two little hands and held on whilst jumping up and down yelling,"Parade! Parade! Parade!" Halloween in elementary school is quite something.

Uh oh, get that corner ready....

- Georgie - 11-01-2003

Very funny.

Our Neighborhood has matured to the point that we'll have to wait for the kids who T&T'd get married and have lil' destroyers of their very-own. Had about 30 max last nite. Used to be 100-150.ww

Hi all, been very busy at work latley and the wife is taking a class at night.

But Georgie, never took you as a Halloween scrooge. We live in a large development and I think every kid in Kannapolis was in our neighborhood last night. We had family and friends over for hotdogs. The adults came and let the yungins go trick or treating.

We went through 62 hotdogs several bags of chips and about $150.00 of candy. My wife starts buying a little candy each week for Haloween starting in August.

And even our pumpkins survived being on the porch all night!

- hotwine - 11-01-2003

We dodged the little buggers once more.... scooted out before they hit the streets, and came back in after they had gone nighty-night.

- Georgie - 11-01-2003

Ah, people after my own heart. Halloween Scrooges unite!

- Innkeeper - 11-01-2003

Was sippin on a Mecella Rosso Piceno while passing out candy to 33 visitors.

- Thomas - 11-01-2003

I arrived from France last night--was too tired to give out candy to the little buggers.

Georgie, next year go to France and return on Halloween night. Nobody will expect you to participate.

- thewoodman - 11-01-2003

I have a four-year old so have to participate, but the neighbors were good to me. A martini up the street, nice glass of cab next door, and a shot of single malt around the corner. I think we got a lot of candy too.

Georgie needs a new neighborhood.
