Championship game wasn't exciting, pulsating, and downrite classic just done' like baskets. Felt sorry for Memphis but this game showed the importance of being able to sink free throws. ROCK CHALK JAYHAWKS!!!!!!!! WW

Way to go Jayhawks! I alienated some at work by rooting for Kansas over UNC in the final four. I'm a Duke fan and have picked up the bad habit of not rooting for the other North Carolina teams if Duke is out of the picture. I probably would have rooted for Kansas anyway since I grew up with the Big Eight tradition (now the Big Twelve)and remember exciting Nebraska basketball victories over Kansas and Kansas State when Wilt Chamberlain played for Kansas (my friend's father was the NU basketball coach at the time.) Just spent a couple days with another friend whose father was NU's baseball coach in those days, and Bob Devaney (former NU football coach and athletic director) and Tippy Dye (athletic director prior to Devaney) also had daughters my year in school. It was kind of eerie that four coaches/athletic directors had daughters in the same grade.

That was indeed a great game. And WW's right about importance of free-throws: need only look at the Spurs to see what can happen when that fundamental skill gets lost at the pro level.
Was just sorry to see so many fine young bucks had sullied themselves with ink.
