- Georgie - 10-10-2006 That's all...This die-hard Mets girl is very excited! - Innkeeper - 10-10-2006 Rah rah, sis boom bah. Only Northeast team left. Tigers look good though. - Bucko - 10-10-2006 The Cardinals are going to wing whip them severely.... Go Birds! Actually, I'm pulling for Detroit -- they seem like the underdog this year. - Kcwhippet - 10-10-2006 I really could care less who's in it. It's really just an excuse to put on a good spread and haul out some good wine (sorry Georgie). - winoweenie - 10-10-2006 What about them Diamondbacks??? WW - VouvrayHead - 10-10-2006 I'm with Bucko, Let's go Cards!!! - hotwine - 10-11-2006 I'm in the "anybody but the Yankees!" camp. Dee-troit looked good last night, and the Mets' game tonight should be a good one. (Still in a funk for the Dodgers' move to L.A. back in the Dark Ages...) - wondersofwine - 10-11-2006 I'm also anyone but the Yankees. My "teams" haven't been doing so well lately (Orioles and Kansas City Royals) but I can root for Detroit as an underdog and since I lived in Michigan for two years. (And my roommate's boyfriend had us memorize the names of the Tigers' starting lineup--I think that was when Al Kaline was still playing) My roommate's father was the baseball coach at the University of Nebraska so I'm surprised we didn't try to attend some of the Tiger games. Maybe it was because I left Michigan in June after the school year ended. Also have some empathy with Oakland from living in Monterey County and attending one Oakland game (the only other major league ballparks I've been in are Camden Yards and the Yankee Stadium). And I grew up in Nebraska which borders Missouri so can root for St. Louis. Only reason I would be for the Mets would be to side with Georgie. So I think I would like to see either a Detroit-Mets series or Detroit-St. Louis series. - Kcwhippet - 10-11-2006 That's getting way too complicated for me. - Georgie - 10-11-2006 Even I wouldn't feel too bad if Detroit went all the way. (Oh dear, did I just say that?)No matter what, the Mets have given their fans an outstanding season. I'll be going into withdrawal when baseball is over. I'll be forced to endure a few more NASCAR races and then football...just shoot me. - VouvrayHead - 10-18-2006 I'll say it again... GO CARDS! Carpenter on the mound tomorrow night, things are looking good. - winoweenie - 10-18-2006 Having lived in St. Louis after my stint at the U of Mo. Columbia I have a tie to the Cards. At least one of the choices I have named "Cards" know how to win.(sob) WW - TheEngineer - 10-18-2006 Go Maple Leafs!!!! ...oh wrong sport.....this is the one without the ice and the full body contact.... - Georgie - 10-18-2006 These playoff games are killing me. The drama...the suspense...I'm praying for a Mets win tonight! - Bucko - 10-18-2006 Really good game last night -- a real nail biter. The Cards will wrap it up tonight. Oh yeah! - hotwine - 10-18-2006 Dang! We've got a good t-storm goin' and have lost the sat signal in the 6th! WANH! - Bucko - 10-18-2006 Looks like the Birds are about to be plucked ... gulp. - winoweenie - 10-19-2006 And on to the finale.WW - hotwine - 10-19-2006 The signal was back up in time to see the pluckin'. Good game. - Georgie - 10-19-2006 That ninth inning had me chewing my nails all right! The METS will wrap it up tonight! They deserve to be in the Series after the season they've had! |
